I am trying to decide between the Beach Villas and the Boardwalk Villas. I am traveling with a 3 and 2 year old in October 2009. Which has the most on site entertainment (pools, playground, beaches..)

    Hi Jessica,

Those are two fantastic resort choices and either one, I am sure your family will have a great time. Both resorts are Epcot resorts and are tucked behind Epcot's World Showcase on Crescent Lake. Both are within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, or if you are not up for the walk, there is a boat that runs from the resort's to both of those parks. You can easily catch a Disney bus from the front of the resorts to travel to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney and the waterparks. We have spent many vacations in both resorts and the rooms are very similar in size and layout and are very family friendly resorts.

The Boardwalk offers a larger selection of shops, restaurants and entertainment. In the evening the Boardwalk comes alive with free strolling entertainers and carnival games. During the day you can often find guests scattered amongst the benches and tables enjoying the view on the boardwalk. The Boardwalk features four restaurants, a bakery, sweet shop, gift shop, arcade, playground  and a great pool with slide. However given all the Boardwalk offers, my recommendation is easily the Beach Club. The Beach Club offers access to the best resort pool area in all of Disney World, Stormalong Bay. This massive pool area features white sand bottom pools, a lazy river, toddler play area with slides, whirlpool, sandy kiddie pool and the most unbelievable water slide tucked inside a pirate ship. My boys spend hours there daily and never get bored. The Beach Club also has a great playground area, a sandy beach (where you can view the free movie of the night on most nights), Cape May Cafe buffet restaurant, a large arcade and yummy old fashioned soda shop Beaches n Cream.

The great thing about the Beach Club is you can enjoy the fantastic pool area and still be within a short walk over to the Boardwalk to enjoy all the shops and entertainment there. A win-win situation to us!

    Wishing you an amazing trip!
