We are trying to choose between the following weeks to visit WDW with 2 boys, age 5 and 8:Oct 14th week or the first week in Dec?On our previous trip, we arrived on Dec 1 and were happy. I really want to avoid crowds and heat. What would you recommend?

    Shannon,

I think that you are probably better off with your planned arrival of the first week in December. The temperatures are lower, and the crowds are somewhat lower as well, typically.

I love October, but only because I want it a bit more 'summer-y", so that we are assured of being able to swim every day. I have been there that first week in December where we could swim, but also at times where we could not.

If you are OK with that, I would say stick to the first week in December to meet your preferences of lower temps and lighter crowds!

    Have a magical vacation!
