I am trying to buy tickets for a group of friends. Do they all need Disney accounts, do they need ID, can they still link together for lightning lanes so they can all ride together etc. Just trying to figure out the easiest way to do this. Thank you!

    Hi Megan,

Thanks for visiting planDisney! It sounds like you’ve taken the lead in planning your Disneyland Resort vacation—how exciting! We here at planDisney are happy to support you in bringing Disney magic to your friends.

After purchasing tickets, your friends will not need their own MyDisney accounts. Upon arriving at the park, guests do not need to show ID if they have purchased regular park tickets. Each guest will have their photo taken at entry, which will then be linked to their ticket. You can manage all of the tickets from your own MyDisney account.

As you mentioned, linking your friends’ tickets in one app is especially helpful for managing Lightning Lane reservations. When booking Lightning Lane entries on your phone, you can select all the members of your party who will be joining you. Remember, you can make a new reservation every two hours or once you've used your existing one—whichever comes first.

When you purchase the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, it includes unlimited downloads of your Disney PhotoPass photos. Be sure to ask your photographer if they have any Magic Shots available—there are sure to be some fun ones for the 70th Anniversary celebration!

Megan, I hope this information is helpful. I’m confident you and your friends will have an amazing vacation. There are so many incredible things planned for the 70th Anniversary—be sure to check out the delicious treats, magical entertainment, and eye-catching merchandise you won’t want to miss!

If you have any other questions or need help with planning, feel free to write back to me or one of my fellow panelists. We’d be happy to share more tips!

    Happy planning!
