Hi my daughter bought a one day ticket online for when her senior class is going because the school ticket deadline had passed. They just added a bus and more tickets - can she return her online ticket and buy through school instead?

    Hi Julie,

Welcome back to planDisney! Thank you for trusting us with your planning questions. How fun that your daughter gets to go to Disneyland on a school trip! I still remember my own senior year trip to Disneyland—it was truly a magical experience.

I’m glad to hear that your daughter’s school was able to secure more tickets for students. While Disneyland Resort tickets are nonrefundable, you do have a couple of options to put her magical ticket to good use.

Option 1: Save the ticket for another trip
Currently, one-day tickets purchased through Disneyland.com or the Disneyland app are valid through December 30, 2026. You can change the reservation date to a later time. Be sure to check out the 2025 event calendar to find another great time to visit the parks.

    Option 2: Upgrade the ticket
You can visit a ticket booth at the Disneyland Resort to upgrade the ticket to one of the special 70th Anniversary tickets. These are 3-day or 4-day tickets available for visits between May 16 and August 14, 2025 (subject to park reservation availability). This is a great way to enjoy the summer celebrations before your daughter starts the next stage of her life.

Option 3: Upgrade to a Magic Key
If your daughter is ready to really dive into the magic, you can upgrade her ticket to a Magic Key. There was a recent announcement that Keys will go on sale starting May 20 (subject to change). She can schedule a park visit for that day and then upgrade her ticket at the park. You can also try calling the Disneyland Tickets phone line or the Magic Key Holders phone line on that day to see if it’s possible to upgrade over the phone.

When your daughter goes on her trip, make sure she checks out all the graduation merchandise! I’ve seen shirts and ears for the Class of 2025. She might even want to get a pair of hand-painted ears at Plaza Point in Disneyland or Julius Katz & Sons in Disney California Adventure to commemorate the occasion.

Julie, I hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions or need help with planning, feel free to write back to me or one of my fellow panelists—we’d be happy to share more tips!

    Catch you in the parks!
