Megan from MI Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We are trying to book a trip for February 2023 and looking into prices. My husband is a veteran and I am looking to see if there are discounts available to him and how that would work.

Hi Megan, and welcome to planDisney! Before I begin, I want to say thank you for your husband's service! I am so happy to hear that you and your husband want to begin planning a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth! 3 chEARS to that! As a military spouse myself, I understand taking time for moments like these are precious! Visiting Walt Disney World Resort with my family has given us some of our most favorite memories!

Walt Disney World has some incredible discounts for active duty service members. Depending on the veteran status your husband has, you may be entitled to the rates offered for the Disney Resort Collection hotels! My family and I consider Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort as our "home away from home!" Another option to consider if you cannot access the resort discounts, would be to check out Shades of Green resort. This is a DoD property within Walt Disney World Resort that caters to military personnel and their families. They have beautiful rooms, buses to theme parks, and it is only a quick 15 minute walk to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. You can also purchase park tickets passes at their Attractions Tickets Sale Office.

Theme park ticket discounts are also another wonderful perk. Upon purchasing tickets at your local travel office on base, or ordering from Shades of Green, you can link them to your account on the My Disney Experience app. Once you link tickets, you can make park pass reservations. You can read all the details about military discounts on this link. Remember to bring your vouchers with you to Guest Relations at any theme park upon arriving to Walt Disney World Resort! Cast Members will activate your tickets with proper Military ID or DD-214 paperwork.

I hope I have answered some of your questions about military discounts, Megan! I hope you and your family have the most magical time visiting Walt Disney World Resort! Happy Planning!
