Hi there, Owen! Welcome to planDisney.
Oh boy! How exciting that you are planning a last-minute vacation for your crew of 7! I have a family of 6 myself, so I understand the challenges when trying to find accommodations for a larger family. The online booking system will only allow you to check out with one room in your cart at a time. The easiest thing to do will be to book one room for 1 adult and 3 children, and then after completing that transaction book a second room for the second adult and the remaining 2 children. During the checkout process, you'll be able to indicate that you would like nearby or connecting rooms. Just under the Guest Information on the checkout page, you should see a link with the words "Room and Amenity Requests". Click on this link, and check your preference if you would like nearby or connecting rooms. (This is also where you can request a crib if necessary.) You will then enter the name and arrival date of the lead Guest on the second reservation. I do this when I book each room, even though I haven't booked the second room yet. If you would prefer to call instead of booking online, two rooms can be booked when
calling the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line at (407) 939-1936.
To assist with your search, it is helpful to know that rooms at
Value Resort Hotels sleep up to 4 Guests.
Moderate Resort Hotels also sleep 4, although some 5th Sleeper rooms with a child-sized pull-down bed are available at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Most rooms at
Deluxe Resort Hotels sleep 5. Family suites, available at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort and
Disney's All-Star Music Resort sleep 6, as do
Wilderness Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. One child under age 3 in a crib is allowed in addition to the stated occupancy.
One thing that is important to know is that at this time, theme park reservations are required. All Guests ages 3 and up will need both a
Disney Park Pass theme park reservation in addition to valid admission in order to enter a theme park. I just took a peek at the
theme park reservation availability calendar, and as of this writing, all four parks have reservations available for your dates. Keep in mind that reservations are limited and availability can change at any time, so I recommend
purchasing your theme park tickets and making your Disney Park Pass reservations as soon as your travel dates are confirmed.
Owen, once you get that trip booked, come back and see us again with all your planning questions! My fellow panelists and I have great tips on where to find the best snacks, our favorite dining locations, fun activities for the whole family, and lots more!
Happy Planning!
