Hello, Juliet!
I make it no secret that the best part of planning a
Walt Disney World vacation for me is planning the meals. I read all about each
restaurant and dining experience, then book what I think my family will enjoy.
You are correct that you can begin
booking your dining reservations 60 days prior to your arrival. If you are staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can make reservations for up to 10 days. When you are logging in at your 60-day mark, others have already booked those days as part of their vacation, which begins prior to yours. But don't give up. I have a few tips for you.
First, if you are a Disney resort guest, book your must-do reservations later in your trip. If you're staying a week, don't try to book the tough reservations for the first or second night of your trip - try for the fifth or sixth night. Use that length of stay booking advantage.
Second, whether or not you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, log in about 15 minutes before the booking window opens. Be ready to go, and start trying a few minutes early.
Lastly, don't make your dining reservations by date order if you are a resort guest - make them by order of your most wanted dining experience first. Go for the important ones, even if they aren't on your first day.
Keep trying, Juliet. People cancel all the time, and I find I have decent luck scoring a tough-to-get experience after 10 PM Florida time or before 7 AM Florida time. My fingers are crossed!
Anna
