Hi Sadie,
Welcome to planDisney! I absolutely love enjoying character dining with my family at
Walt Disney World Resort. There is such a great variety of menus to sample and characters to meet, it's always hard to choose! I think you have your eye on the Princess Storybook Dining at
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. I haven't had a chance to eat there yet, but I know that anticipation is high for the return of breakfast and lunch at this particular location. I'm happy to report that both will resume service on May 14th. You're almost ready for your banquet so let's see if I can help with your dining dilemma.
Dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance, so you'll see grayed-out dates on the calendar for anything outside of the current booking window. If you are a guest of a Disney Resort Hotel, you'll have the
added benefit of making reservations for the
length of your stay at the 60-day mark, up to 10 days, so be sure your resort reservation is linked in your
My Disney Experience Mobile App.
As you've seen, the week of June 18th is not available to book just yet. You'll see booking open within the next two days, so be sure to mark your calendar and set your alarm. Reservations usually open around 5:45 a.m. EST at the 60-day mark. I always solidify make my game plan the night before then grab my coffee and get to work bright and early. I keep my phone and laptop handy during the process in case I experience technical issues on a particular device. I'm crossing my fingers you'll be able to secure all your desired reservations at once, but don't despair if you aren't 100% successful on your first attempt. Guests' plans change all the time and you may find availability open even up to the same day as your visit.
While you're making your plans, you may want to consider a few other dining options. Our favorite character meal is breakfast at
Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera. The setting and food are second to none, not to mention Mickey and friends' adorable attire. My family also absolutely loved our experience at
Whispering Canyon Cafe a few months ago, and we feasted to our heart's content with dinner at
Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom Park just last weekend. We had a bit of cold weather that day so the family-style menu really warmed us up, and kept us fueled for a night of fireworks and fun! My kids are still talking about the Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake we had for dessert.
I hope this helped, Sadie. Feel free to stop back and ask us any other questions as you prepare for your visit. I'm always happy to see guests put our service to the test, especially when it comes to Disney dining; course by course, one by one, 'til you shout, "Enough! I'm done!"
Bon appétit!
Amy
