I am trying to assign my assign my magicband + to a ticket but I keep getting a message that something went wrong. The tickets and bands are all on my account/app but won't let me assign them except the one to myself.

    Hello, Susan,

Welcome to planDisney. It’s a pleasure to offer some advice about one of my favorite topics: the amazing technology used at Disney Parks.

"Oh, bother." I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having some trouble with your MagicBand+ devices. I had some issues with some of ours recently as well. My difficulties happened when we switched between using the bands at both the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort. Hopefully, some of what I learned along the way may help you too.

Here are a few MagicBand+ troubleshooting tips to try out.

    • In general, it’s a good idea to make sure your MagicBand+ is charged when getting ready to pair it with one of the Disney Parks mobile apps. It is not absolutely necessary for linking a band with your account, but it is necessary for Bluetooth pairing with your mobile device. Bluetooth pairing will also allow you to use the Disneyland mobile app to customize your band.
    • Make sure you have the latest version of the Disneyland mobile app installed on your mobile device. In some extreme cases, it may help to uninstall and reinstall the app as well.
    • It may be helpful to do a full power-off of your mobile device. For many mobile phones, this can be done by holding down the power button or the power button and another button such as a volume or home button for a few seconds then selecting Power Off from the options. Then power up the phone again to give it a fresh start.
    • If the regular MagicBand+ setup steps aren’t working, take a look at the MagicBand+ support page on the Disneyland Resort website.
    • If the MagicBand+ is not working, there are some steps to follow to reset or factory reset your band. This did the trick for me when my MagicBand+ wasn’t working at the Walt Disney World Resort.
    • I found that I could not link my wife’s band to my Disneyland Resort account if it was already linked to her account. But it is also easy to unlink a MagicBand+ and link it to another account.
    • As a last resort, you may stop by any of the Guest Relations locations throughout the Disneyland Resort to seek technical assistance.

Tony’s Tip: You won’t want to miss some of the fun surprises that can happen when you have your band turned on for some of the attractions at the Disneyland Resort. A few of my favorites include Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! and Haunted Mansion. Be sure to pack your MagicBand+ chargers for your visit.

I hope you have a wonderfully magical vacation at The Happiest Place on Earth, Susan. I hope you’ll visit us at planDisney again if you have any other questions.

    ~Tony
