Hello, I am try to plan our first family trip to WWD ,which will be April 10-16, to celebrate my children's birthdays, ages 2 and 6. Trying to make a daily itenerary. Approxiately how many days or hours should I plan for each park?

    Hi Vickie,

Your trip will be here so soon. I hope you have made some Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) in order to squeeze some downtime to refuel during your trip.

I would recommend with your children's ages and it being your first trip to hit each park at least one full day. When I say full day, I do not mean from open to close. I mean from the time your children normally would get up to around their bedtime. However, if they get up at 10:00 am and go to bed at 7:00 pm, you may need to stretch their day a little:) What I mean is you should stick to your schedule as much as possible when touring. This makes for a more pleasant experience for you all.

I count you have five full days at the Walt Disney World Resorts. I usually do not count the day we travel as a touring day because we are usually tired from being up early to head to vacation. We will go to the pool or Downtown Disney. Also, we usually do not have a length of stay Magic Your Way ticket which is good the entire length of your trip. Without this feature, I would not want to use a full day ticket in the parks for just a few hours. The same would apply for the last day of vacation when we are travelling home. However, if you have a length of stay ticket (included in a package), you may want to go to a park for a few hours.

For the extra day, you can go back to your favorite park. Most children at this age love the Magic Kingdom but you never know. I would also recommend going to EPCOT on your first full day of touring as it is a large park and you want to have fresh legs for walking. Plus it has its own magic which children may not see if they head to Magic Kingdom right away.

I hope this helps you have a magical vacation!
