I am going to try to get CRT 180 days before my trip, but could you reccommend a backup table service rest. (in MK or one of the resorts nearby) incase I can't get a res.We are already eating at Crystal Palace one day but need an idea for our 2nd day at MK.

    Heather,

There are three other meals in that area that may suit your needs.  Each of the monorail resorts offers a different character breakfast, and all are excellent.

-First, in the Contemporary Resort, is Chef Mickey's.  This is one of my family's must-do meals on every trip.  The food is traditional American fare complete with Mickey waffles, and the atmosphere is very festive. Characters dance, waiters sing, and diners wave their napkins to 'Celebrate with Mickey Mouse!'  You can generally find Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto here.

-Moving around the monorail is the Polynesian Resort, home to the Lilo and Stitch Best Friends Breakfast.  This meal usually has scrambled eggs, island-style potatoes, bacon and sausage, etc.  It's not exotic and easy to feed even the pickiest eaters.

-The last stop on the monorail is the Grand Floridian resort, where you'll find a very elegant character breakfast waiting in 1900 Park Fare.  When we dined there in late 2007 we met Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, Pooh, Tigger, and my personal favorite Mary Poppins.  The food here is more upscale as well, and I especially enjoyed the chicken-blueberry sausage.  Fear not if your children (or you!) are particular though - there are very basic traditional offerings as well.

I hope this helps you with your 'plan B', and good luck getting that coveted castle breakfast reservation!
