Our trip to WDW is in October 2014 - 7 adults and 4 children under 4. For dining (not quick service) - is it absolutely necessary to make a reservation and if so is it too late? My son as many allergies so I'd like to plan ahead. Thank you!

    Hi Erika,

I think it is necessary to make Advance Dining Reservations especially when you have a large group. Some restaurants can not accommodate everyone and you could spend your time looking to dine instead of riding an attraction or watching a show or parade. When you add in that your son has multiple allergies, it really helps to give the chef a heads up on your son's arrival. In addition, if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, you do not want to lose the table service credit.

While you may not be able to dine at Cinderella's Royal Table or Le Cellier Steakhouse, you should still have great dining options available. You may need to be flexible in your times. Also, look at restaurants in the resorts near where you are touring. For example, if you are in Magic Kingdom, you can quickly get to a restaurant at Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, Polynesian Village or the Grand Floridian.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
