Hi Moms, Our 1st trip to WDW 8/21/10 - 8/28/10 with husband, 2 boys 9 & 7 (all very good eaters). Is it worth upgrade to DDP? Can you order anything off the menus or only certain items? Planning to do the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue 1st night. Thanks

Hi, Marie!  I would say if your guys are good eaters, this may be the best way for you to go.  You can enjoy some truly fabulous meals on the Disney Dining Plan, and for people who are big eaters, it certainly helps you budget in advance how much money you'll need to fill those hungry boys!

You can order pretty much anything off of any of the menus with the Disney Dining Plan, with few exceptions.  You will find sometimes there might be a menu special or something that your server will generally inform you is not covered on the plan, but for the most part, the whole menu is yours to choose from.

Keep in mind that some meals, such as the Hoop Dee Doo dinner show, do require two dining plan credits.  It may be better to pay for those things out of pocket, but you could also plan to just do a different meal with cash to make up for the extra credit the dinner show will cost.

Have a wonderful time and some incredible meals on your upcoming vacation!
