On our trip (4/26 to 5/2), we will be staying off Disney property near DTD. . Can we get Disney transportation buses from DTD to the Transportation Center and transfer to get to the parks? How much time should we allow? Is parking at DTD a realistic option

Hi, Lucinda!  The short answer is yes, you can park at Downtown Disney and eventually make your way to the Transportation and Ticket Center.

The long answer is just that - LONG.  There is not direct bus transportation from Downtown Disney to the Transportation and Ticket Center or any of the theme parks.  You will have to take transportation from Downtown Disney to one of the resort hotels.  From there, you'll have to wait for another bus that will take you where you really want to go.

You can wait up to 20 minutes for a bus to arrive at Downtown Disney.  From there, you may not go directly to a resort, as some buses will also do pick ups and drop offs at the water parks.  When you finally do arrive at a resort, you might wait up to another 20 minutes there for a bus to the Transportation and Ticket Center or to a theme park.

I would allow up to two hours if you opt to go with the Downtown Disney route.  It's definitely not the easiest way to get from point A to point B, and you will lose a good chunk of theme park day.

If you won't have a car, and your resort doesn't have a shuttle, you can really get around pretty quickly by taxi.  Fares are pretty reasonable, and in exchange for saving time, you may find them well worth the added expense.

Have a wonderful time on your upcoming vacation!
