Our trip is set for the first week of June. We will be traveling with a wheelchair bound adult. Are all of the rides wheelchair accessible? She is especially excited about its a small world .

    Hey there, Mary Jo!

I'm so happy to welcome you back to planDisney, and I truly appreciate you continuing to use us as your trusted resource when planning your Disney vacations. It sounds like you're starting your summer with a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth. What a wonderful way to kick off the season! With so much excitement, entertainment, and new offerings in store, this summer is shaping up to be an especially magical one.

As someone who uses a wheelchair myself, I've been able to experience Walt Disney World's accessibility features firsthand. I'm happy to share that many attractions are thoughtfully designed to accommodate guests using mobility devices. Quite a few rides offer Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs), which means you can stay in your wheelchair from start to finish. An up-to-date list of these attractions is available online, which is a great planning tool before your visit.

You can share with your friend that "it's a small world" is one of those rides where she can remain in her wheelchair for the complete experience! It does use a separate entrance for wheelchair boarding, but it's super easy. Just let a nearby Cast Member know, and they'll happily point you in the right direction.

Beyond attractions with wheelchair-accessible vehicles, many rides also offer transfer options if she's comfortable moving from her wheelchair to the ride seat. These experiences may include features like swing-open doors, folding supports, or transfer boards to make boarding easier and more supportive.

There's also a fantastic resource I'd love to recommend checking out as you plan. Disney's Services for Guests with Mobility Needs page walks through available accommodations across the resort. You can even access this information right from the My Disney Experience mobile app. From the home screen, simply tap "Accessibility & Health Services," then scroll to "Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities." It's especially handy for quick answers when you're in the parks.

Mary Jo, I hope this information helps as you continue planning your trip. If any other questions pop up, you know where to find us...right here at planDisney!

    Magical Wishes,

    Kami
