Hi Kerry,
I'm super excited to hear that you have a magical vacation planned to the Walt Disney World Resort this fall! With more mild weather,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and the
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, October is a GREAT time to visit! And you're really going to
love Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. Did you see the
Disney Parks Blog article earlier this week with photos from the all new Gran Destino Tower there? Wow...it's GORGEOUS!
Hooray for an extra day at "The Most Magical Place on Earth," too! Since there isn't currently availability where you're staying for the bulk of your vacation, I'd encourage you to choose another
Disney Resort hotel for that first night. Split stays are fun because you can immerse yourself in two unique settings and enjoy all that each Resort hotel has to offer. I'm even happy to tell you that Disney will
move your bags for you from one Resort hotel to the next, so switching over to your home away from home for the rest of your vacation will be easy peasy. Of course, yes, it is possible that someone could cancel a room, so you can definitely feel free to keep your eye on Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, too, if you'd really prefer to stay there for your extra night. Do note that if you book a room for just one night, it will be seen as a separate reservation and you'll most likely need to move rooms within the Resort. I'm just excited for you that you'll get an extra day of magic and fun, though!
Here's a tip for you: If you don't have theme park tickets for your arrival day since you're coming in a day early, visiting
Disney's BoardWalk in the evening and enjoying the street performers while you stroll beside the lake is fun...and free! Of course, the shopping, dining, and entertainment at
Disney Springs is always great, too!
I'm so glad that you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kerry, and please come see us again if we can help with anything else as you're planning your trip. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
