We have a trip planned in May I was wondering if there is any kind of dining plan you can buy if you are not staying at a disney resort?

I'm sorry to tell you that all versions of the Disney Dining Plan are only available for guests staying at WDW resort hotels. The Dining Plan can be purchased as part of a Magic Your Way vacation package or by Disney Vacation Club members and annual passholders staying on WDW property.

You can still dine in any of the wonderful WDW restaurants without the dining plan, you will just be paying for the meals differently.
