    1st trip in May 2009. Staying at POR. Curious if it would be worth going to Fort Wilderness for dinner. Just worried about transportation time. Kids are 8 and 15. Wanted to do the campfire also.

    Hi Jenny,

    You'll love Port Orleans Riverside, it's a beautiful resort and I've stayed there several times. It's actually quite easy to get to Fort Wilderness and we did it during our last stay. Using Disney transport catch a bus to Magic Kingdom and then hop on a boat to FW, you would probably need to allow an hour for this journey but if you're early it's great to explore the resort before your meal. You could also catch a taxi which would only take about 15 minutes.

    What we've done in the past is visited MK the day of our FW meal (we actually went to the Hoop Dee Doo Review) gone to FW via the boat and after the show we returned to MK for the fireworks.
