1st trip to Disney World 7/1 thru 7/5. I am staying off site. Are there any meal plan options I can purchase? If not, how is the pricing of the food at the parks? Can I feed a family of 5 for $50 a day?

    Eric,

The dining plan is only available to Disney resort guests, so unfortunately you won't be able to purchase that since you're staying off-site.

It's hard to say how much meals will cost you since I don't know the ages of your children.  However, I don't think $50/day for a family of 5 would be sufficient.

If you're working on a budget then counter-service (fast food) type meals will be your least expensive option.  A typical kids meal would be $4.49 plus tax (though some are more).  Adult meals range from $6.49-$15, not including tax or a beverage.  (Prices are estimates and always subject to change)

If you need to stretch your dollar I suggest bringing a soft cooler with food.  There are lockers available in the parks so you can store the bag there, and have a picnic lunch or dinner whenever you are ready.  Even if you don't bring entire meals, snacks like fruit or chips, bottled drinks, etc would all be great money savers.

I hope that helps you plan!
