This is my 15th trip to Disney World, not counting two trips to Disneyland. I have been to Disney World in its First year, 25th, year, and now will be Disney’s 50th. Is there anything special you could recommend I do for this momentous occasion?

William! It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you to The World's Most Magical Celebration! From all of us here at planDisney, thanks for choosing to be our Guest.

I'm so glad to hear that Walt Disney World Resort has been such a big part of your life over the years. I can't think of a better backdrop for some very magical memories! But I also hope you know that you've been a big part of the magic at Walt Disney World Resort, too. Being a part of The Most Magical Place on Earth during its first, 25th, and now 50th year is something truly special. William, people like you ARE the magic!

So with that being said – let's celebrate! I have a few ideas that I think you might enjoy.

    • Pick up a complimentary "I'm Celebrating" button to mark the occasion. This is a great souvenir to cherish once you return home! Celebration buttons can be picked up from the front desk of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel or Guest Relations outside each of the parks.
    • Grab a pair of Mickey Ears, then get them customized! I'd recommend either your name in a classic cursive script, or something like "50 years of magic!" You can grab a pair and have them personalized from Box Office Gifts at the Town Square Theater or from Fantasy Faire near the exit of Mickey's Philharmagic. You could even pick up an item to have personalized from Disney's Wonderful World of Memories in Disney Springs! Then, ask a Disney PhotoPass photographer to take your picture in front of Cinderella Castle!
    • You could even have your Disney PhotoPass photo digitally added to the Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories to mark this special occasion between you and Walt Disney World Resort!
    • Be sure to check out some activities that are special to the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary, such as the Beacons of Magic which light up the nighttime landscape in new and exciting ways. You won't want to miss this limited-time experience! You could also bring home some 50th Anniversary Celebration Merchandise or sink your teeth into some celebratory sweets at each of the parks!
    • My personal, favorite way to celebrate The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration would be to ride the classic attractions that were available on the opening day of the park. Some of these would include Country Bear Jamboree, The Hall of Presidents, Haunted Mansion, "it's a small world," Jungle Cruise, Mad Tea Party, Peter Pan's Flight, Prince Charming Regal Carousel, and Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room.
As you put the finishing touches of pixie dust on your already-magical vacation, be sure that you've made your theme park reservations using the Disney Park Pass system! This is an important step to reserve the parks you wish to visit on each day of your trip.

Wishing upon a star that you have the very best trip with the most magical memories!
