This is our 3rd trip to Disney World with our girls that are 5 and 8. Looking for other things that we can do besides character dining that can keep them entertained. We are staying at one of the resorts for 8 days.

    Hi Veronica,

I love your question and want to pass along some other magical dining options and extra tidbits of ways to enjoy your stay at Walt Disney World.

First dining, there are several restaurants at Walt Disney World Resorts and Theme Parks that play to a visual and yet entertaining value for the Guests. Whispering Canyon Cafe, located at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, is a root'n toot'n time had by all in this western themed restaurants where Guest participation is a must in some of their antics, and ask for KETCHUP! Raglan Road in Downtown Disney is an Irish pub, with some amazing Irish dancers that perform throughout the evening. Coral Reef Restaurant and Teppan Edo, located in Epcot, will visually captivate your family, whether eating inside Nemo & Friends aquarium or watching the choreographed Japanese chefs cooking at your own table, both are sights to be seen. Or head over to Disney's Hollywood Studios and walk into the past at 50's Prime Time Cafe, servers treat you just like their own children, so be sure to mind your P's and Q's. Or, park yourself in one of the cars at the Sci-Fi Dine-In restaurant and enjoy a meal under the star while watching some classic Sci-Fi but kid-friendly movies.

Other ideas are, take advantage of your resort's pool activities and Children's Activity Center. Take a trip on the Walt Disney World Resort Monorail, explore the resorts and make a reservations at one of their restaurants for a little break. To add to that adventure, pre-purchase the book Hidden Mickey's: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World's Best Kept Secrets and see how many hidden Mickey's you find on your magical vacation, they are everywhere. Fantasia Gardens and Fairway Miniature Golf is always fun and finally, check-out Beaches&Cream for a sweet treat and finish out the evening watching the nighttime entertainment on Disney's Boardwalk.

If I can be of any further pixie dusted assistance feel free to ask.
