Our trip to Disney is just days away. We purchased the 7 day base tickets, but thinking about adding the water park option. If we add this option, does this mean we can visit a water park and theme park within the same day?

If you have seven-day base tickets and purchase the Water Park Fun & More add-on, you will be given seven days of admission to the theme parks (one per day) and seven individual admissions to Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon or DisneyQuest. The theme park admissions and the WPF&M admissions are unrelated. To answer your specific question, yes, you could visit a theme park and a water park during the same day with the ticket combination you mention.

Reading the posts HERE and HERE will give you more information about the relationship between the theme park tickets and the water park tickets.

Enjoy your stay at Walt Disney World.
