Our trip for this Dec. is PIF, going to go ahead and book for next year. Thinking about BC or YC (myself, DW, and DD2). How does parking work there? We prefer to drive to the parks, is it a pain to use self parking? How far of a walk to Epcot? Thanks.

    Hi John,

While I have never stayed at either Yacht or Beach Clubs, I have stayed numerous times across the lake at the Boardwalk Inns. One of the main reasons for staying there is the 5-10 minute walk to Epcot and about a 15 minute walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios. Of course, you can take the boat that loops around the lake. I love these boats because you will not have to collapse your stroller to ride the boat which is nice when your daughter is sleeping in it after a long day in the park.

As for parking, when you pull up to the resort, the security will ask your name to verify you are a guest at the resort. When you check in, you will receive a parking pass to display in your window. (Make sure you know the make and model of the car you are driving and license plate.) You simply display the pass in your window while at the resort. Your room key will open the gate at the resort.

I personally do not like driving to the parks. I would rather take the Disney transportation because I like to park hop. The only park I really do not like driving to is the Magic Kingdom because the lot is huge and you still have to transfer to a paddle boat or monorail to get to the front gate. The other parks are easier to park at and the current parking rate is about $12.

    Have a magical vacation!
