Our trip is for Aug. 20-27 what type of clothes should we pack? Are flip flops okay or should we just wear sneakers? Also any suggestions would be great. First trip and its a bit overwhelming. What should we do the first, second, etc. day?

Hi, Gabriela!  The end of August is hot and humid in the Orlando area, and you'll want to dress in clothes that are cool and comfortable.  I try to keep shoulders covered on my girls, not only to keep them protected from the sun, but even with sunscreen, the hot sun beating down on their shoulders is a bit too much.  We always do t-shirts, shorts, skorts, and the occasional sundress with a t-shirt underneath.

I see a lot of people wearing flip flops in the theme parks, and if that works for your family, it's certainly not prohibited.  I don't allow my kids to wear flip flops because I find they get tired much more quickly in them then in a good pair of broken in sneakers.  There is also the chance of getting sunburn on the tops of your feet if you are wearing flip flops.

When planning your days, you can check out the website touringplans.com.  They have a crowd calendar that gives you an idea of what parks might be the best on each day.  You can get 30 days in advance for free, or you can join the site for much more information!  We often plan our days around where we are going for our advanced dining reservations.  I'm not much of a park hopper, so if I have a dining reservation at EPCOT, we're going to EPCOT that day!

Have a great time, don't stress, and enjoy the magic!
