I tried to make dining reservations but everything was booked. Does this mean I shouldn't bother even trying to go to these restaurants or do they only reserve a certain portion of seats and have some open seating?

Hi, Kimberly!  I think the key to securing the dining reservations you are want is flexibility.  If you can eat a little earlier or later, or maybe plan your park days around the days you can snag a coveted restaurant reservation, you might have some more luck.

Another thing that works well for me is to be diligent.  If I am trying to get a must have reservation for my family, I log on in the morning and before bed at night, and if I have time in between, I check then as well.  And don't give up until you are there.  Guests must cancel dining reservations 24 hours in advance to avoid a penalty, so you might luck into a reservation even up until the last minute.

The last thing you can try is walking up.  Sometimes, a restaurant can accommodate a walk up party, although I will say this is tougher to do at some of the most popular restaurants.  It can be almost impossible some days to walk up to Be Our Guest and find a table, but you never know!

If all else fails, branch out with your search into other restaurants.  If you are trying to get Chef Mickey's and finding it tough to get, look at the Garden Grill at Epcot or even breakfast at 'Ohana.  Hoping to see Cinderella but can't score a meal time at her Royal Table?  See if you can get a reservation at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian.  Having trouble getting seated at Prime Time 50s Cafe?  You'll have a fun, interactive dining experience at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Good luck, Kimberly! I hope you find just the meals that you are looking for.
