Hello, Rasheeda! Dining at the Walt Disney World Resort is such a treat, and I am so happy to see that you are planning your dining reservations in advance of your vacation. The dining locations that accept advance dining reservations need to have a credit card on file for one of two reasons:
- To pre-pay for meals that require full payment in advance (like Cinderella's Royal Table)
- To hold a reservation
In the case of a reservation hold, the credit card is not charged unless you do not adhere to the restaurant's cancellation policy.
Before you make your dining reservations, you can check to see if the restaurant needs a credit card guarantee or advance pre-payment. If you are making your reservation online, simply look at the top right corner of the screen after you have selected your dining date/time. It should say either "Credit Card Guarantee Required" or "Advance Payment Required."
In the case of a credit card guarantee, you should be able to switch to a different form of payment when you actually dine at one of the many delicious Walt Disney World Resort restaurants. I hope that you have a wonderful vacation, Rasheeda! If you have any other questions about dining at the Walt Disney World Resort, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel. Happy planning!
