Hiya, Alison! I'm so happy you stopped by planDisney with your Walt Disney World Resort question. You arrive in just a few sleeps, and it sounds like you're in full planning mode! Let's look at strategies to get the most from your
Lightning Lane passes while you're here.
Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels can purchase Lightning Lane Multi and Single passes
seven days before arrival. They can also buy passes for the length of their stay, which is why some of the most popular attractions book up. All other guests can begin the process at the three-day mark and must purchase on a day-by-day basis. I've found that staying onsite and booking when my window opens at 7:00 AM can substantially affect availability.
But the best-laid plans don't always end magically. I couldn't book
Tiana's Bayou Adventure last month on a ladies' trip, but I kept checking during the days leading up to my vacation. Would you believe I found an opening on the morning of our Magic Kingdom Park visit? We were able to splash down the bayou with Tiana, Mama Odie, and all their woodland pals. Guests often change their plans, so persistence (with a dash of pixie dust) can pay off!
If Lightning Lanes aren't an option, my family uses the Tip Board in the mobile app to monitor wait times for attractions with standby queues. When we were at Magic Kingdom Park a few days ago, we saw that
TRON Lightcycle / Run had a 30-minute wait. We speed-walked over and were racing with Team Blue in no time!
Virtual queues are another option to ride. To check the current offerings, open your app and scroll to "Virtual Queue" in the My Visit section. Tap Join Virtual Queue to select the location and see what attractions will have a virtual queue. Set your alarm and get ready to join the second 7:00 AM hits. I have complete confidence in you!
Alison, I'm wishing on Evangeline, my favorite star, that you'll experience all the attractions you dream of. Thanks again for stopping by
planDisney. Now, pull down that lap bar and have some fun!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
