Welcome Home Barbara!
You and I have the same home Resort! We love the
modern rustic vibe of
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. The first time we took a tour, we were hooked! One of my favorite things about the Resort is it’s proximity to Magic Kingdom Park. The
water taxi is our ideal way to get there, and it’s only about 10 minutes - super convenient!
So sorry that you are waitlisted for our home! It looks like a lot of people love our base camp as much as we do! You are also visiting during “
the most wonderful time of the yEAR,” so that probably has a lot to do with the availability. I just logged in to Disney Vacation Club’s website to
check availability for your dates, and it looks like most of the
Walt Disney World properties have partial availability or waitlist. So I would suggest you nab what’s available as back-up just in case you don’t get your original booking.
I’m a Californian, and we had a huge family reunion last year. We decided to stay on Disneyland property during the gathering. Initially, we were waitlisted for
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. So we booked a room at
Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel as back-up. About ten days before our stay, we came off of the waitlist with just enough time to cancel our reservation at the other hotel! Honestly, we would have been delighted with either choice, but it was nice to use our points rather than pay cash for our stay. It also made the planning process a bit less stressful knowing that no matter what, we were staying on property.
I hope this helps! Regardless of whether you get to stay at
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, make sure to go on a
Holiday Sleigh Ride at the Resort. It’s the perfect way to get in the
Holiday Spirit!
