We are travelling to wdw in Sep 09, children will be 17 & 13. How easy will it be to go off site to eat at International Drive? Or is it worth doing the dining plan?

    Hi Mandy,

I love that you are already thinking about vacation which is almost 15 months away!

Going to International Drive is easy if you have a car. However, you should think about the time away from the parks and expense of the rental car before you make your decision.  You can still eat at all of the restaurants in the Walt Disney World Resorts even if you are not on the Dining Plan.

The Dining Plan can be a great savings if you have big eaters or you like table service meals. With two teenagers in the family, it might very well be worth it to take the Dining Plan. You can add the Dining Plan to any Walt Disney World Resort reservation up to five days prior to check in. This year Disney is offering free dining for most of the month of September so you should look for those deals if they are going to be offered in the Spring next year. I would still recommend booking your vacation when it is best for you and then modify if necessary.

Have a great time planning and keep checking the site for updates as your vacation gets closer!
