Travelling to WDW in March 2014. Party of 7 staying at PO Riverside. Staying for 9 days. I understand that there are buses that go to each park and boats and monorails to some locations. Would it be faster to travel by rental car than Disney Transport?

    Hi Elise!

We often drive to Walt Disney World and always struggle with this same question! Personally, we enjoy using the bus transportation around the resort since we do not need to worry about directions, who is driving or how tired we are at the end of the day. We also don't need to worry about parking and using transportation from the lots to the front gates.

However, if you're looking for which is quickest, then your own rental car will often be the fastest mode of transportation when traveling to Epcot, Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom. Buses are usually faster for the Magic Kingdom.

Since vehicles traveling to the Magic Kingdom must park at the Ticket and Transportation Center, guests must use the ferry or Monorail to travel to the park. In contrast, the resort buses drop guests right near the entrance to the park. This means buses are a great option when traveling to this park.

For Downtown Disney, driving is absolutely the fastest, in my opinion! BUT, parking can be a bear.

I don't think you'll have any problems if you'd like to just like to relax and let someone else do the driving. It really is a personal preference!

    Have a great trip!
