Ahoy, Katielee!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It looks like you'll be starting off September with an adventure on the high seas on the
Disney Magic. This is the ship my family calls "Home" because it's the first vessel we sailed on with Disney Cruise Line, and the one we've cruised on the most. My son was around the same as your little one when we fell in love with cruising with Disney, and I remember having the same concern about the pools. You'll find no swim diapers are allowed in any pools, hot tubs or water play areas (like the
AquaLab) on any cruise ship per the U.S. Public Health Service. For us, we kept him busy with all the other activities, and it was not an issue at all during our seven days onboard, so my fingers are crossed you'll have the same experience when it's your turn!
Katielee, I'm sure your little one loves to splash around as mine did at that age, so I do recommend packing the swim diapers for Nephews' Splash Zone, an area designed for cruisers 3 and under. I also suggest bringing along some small water toys that might keep your little Mouseketeer busy while enjoying the spouting and squirting water! After playing in the splash zone, it's fun to catch a movie on the Funnel Vision while savoring a delicious ice cream from
Eye Scream.
Your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App will also be helpful with planning some magical fun for your little one. Keep an eye out for the
Youth Clubs Open House hours because this means Guests of any age can visit these spaces to play. The Youth Counselors will be present, but you'll have the opportunity to explore the spaces and activities with your little sailor. Toddler Time will also be available several times throughout the sailing, usually in the Promenade Lounge. And don't forget about all the amazing
Character Experiences you'll find onboard Disney Cruise Line especially Wake Up with Disney Junior and the Character Dance Party! I also hope you'll take advantage of
"it's a small world" nursery! while onboard. My son loved his time at the nursery, and we enjoyed being able to stop by and check in on him while he was there. The two-way glass makes this easy to do without interrupting any of the fun.
Thank you for sending in your question, Katielee. We hope you'll visit again soon if we can help again.
