Hi there, we are travelling over to Disney World in January 2020 from Australia! We are a family of 6, looking for ideas on the best places to book for character dining and the best places not to miss!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Raelene!

I am absolutely thrilled to hEAR you will be visiting Walt Disney World this January.  What a great adventure for your family and a wonderful way to start the new yEAR!

There are so many terrific dining options for you to enjoy during your stay.  I have two favorite character dining locations I always recommend for each visit.  First, Chef Mickey's at Disney Contemporary Resort for breakfast.  I love the Mickey waffles of course, but this is a great way to meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy without the lines in the parks!  My second favorite character dining location is Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot.  This is a great opportunity to greet the royal princesses and enjoy some very good food!

At Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa you can enjoy whimsical dining at 1900 Park Fare with some more unique character interactions including Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland.  Character appearances are subject to change, but in my experience we have always enjoyed time with whomever attended!

My favorite non-character dining venues at Walt Disney World hold a place in my heart either for their amazing cuisine or the atmosphere.  In Epcot, I really enjoy the fresh, authentic pizza at Via Napoli.  Also in Epcot, Biergarten Restaurant is a family favorite for an Oktoberfest atmosphere.  If you enjoy fine dining and seafood, Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian and Paddlefish at Disney Springs are great options.

Dining reservations are available 180 days in advance, so you can start booking your meals now!  Come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you need any additional help planning out your magical vacation.

    See ya real soon!  Angie
