Welcome to planDisney, Lynn! I am so glad you found us to ask your Walt Disney World vacation planning question.
January is such a great time to visit Florida! You get milder weather (be sure to bring jackets), which makes heading to the theme parks so enjoyable.
I was just taking a look at the
theme park availability calendar for January, and I see that ALL of the theme parks are available, implying that they are all open. I am not sure where you saw that Disney’s Hollywood Studios would be closed, but I can assure you this is not the case.
When making your dining reservations for January in just a few short days, consider trying a couple of my favorites, maybe they will become your new favorites, too! I am a huge fan of
Olivia’s Café, located at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. The food is reasonable priced and delicious! I have never been disappointed with a meal here. For breakfast, I am a big fan of the Olivia’s Breakfast; it comes with a great combination of breakfast favorites. If you are visiting later in the day, I love the Caesar Salad with shrimp or Captain Wahoo’s Catch of the Day.
Inside the theme parks, a new favorite is Jungle Navigation Co. LTD, Skipper Canteen. I stumbled upon this as a same-day dining reservation and could not have been happier. Picture the Jungle Cruise but as a restaurant. Complete with corny jokes and delicious food, you can’t go wrong giving it a try! I also had an out-of-this-world (literally!) meal at
Space 220. The atmosphere in this new dining establishment is NOT to be missed (be sure to visit the bathrooms). You can even join a standby line for lounge seating, located to the right of Mission: SPACE in EPCOT.
I hope you have a great January visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Happy Traveling,
Tracy
