Welcome to planDisney, Sabrina!
Thanks for sailing by with your question. I was recently aboard the
Disney Dream sailing from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. I appreciate how convenient the terminal is to the airport. I do recommend allowing a little extra time to arrive at the terminal since the traffic around the port can get a little heavy depending on the day and time you arrive.
Sabrina, since you are on a closed-loop cruise (sailing from and back to the same destination), I confirmed with JoJo, one of the helpful Disney Cruise Line Cast Members, that Canadian citizens are required to have
documents that must be valid throughout the length of their cruise. Of course, there are
benefits to carrying up-to-date passports, particularly if an emergency should occur. While your documents will be approved during the
online check-in process, it is always the
Guest's responsibility to make sure your documentation is valid. If you are in doubt, please
contact Disney Cruise Line directly.
Now, once you have your documentation in order, let's talk about the fun! The Disney Dream is one of my favorite ships. It is so easy to navigate around the ship, which is great for making the most of your time at sea. One of my
favorite spots for families is racing down the
AquaDuck! It is a perfect activity to enjoy day or night; I highly recommend trying it at night. I love the moment when the slide "tips" over the edge of the ship. Though it is an adventure, there is no swimming involved, and you can always don a life jacket before riding.
I hope this information is helpful, Sabrina. Please let us know if you have other questions. We are always happy to welcome Guests back here at planDisney!
Wishing you a magical bon voyage!
Shannon
