    Hi, I am travelling on a 4 day cruise on 10th November 2014 with my family with 2 days at castaway cay and I have read that on day two they do a fun 5k run. Is this for all 2 day castaway cay trips?

    I really enjoyed running the Castaway Cay 5K in the past. It is a "fun run", as it is not officially a chip timed race, but I think you'll really enjoy it. Just keep in mind that even though it is November, it is hot! Be sure to hydrate properly before you head out.

    In the past, the Castaway Cay 5K has been offered on both Castaway Cay port mornings of Double Dip cruises, though since schedules and events are always subject to change, you won't know for sure until you're onboard if this will be the case on this particular sailing. There will be information about signing up for the run in the first Personal Navigator you receive at the port, so be sure to look for that and get yourself registered for the race, whether it be for the first or second port day at Castaway Cay (or both if you're that motivated and if it's offered)!

    When I have run this in the past, we've met on the morning of the race at the designated spot onboard. We signed in, received our bib number, and waited until it was time to head onto the island. We walked as a group from the ship to the starting line. Sometimes there has been a bin available to put our bags in, but other times there hasn't, so I just hid mine behind a tree and it was fine. Other guests have passed theirs off to family members. Then, it's starting time! The path is pretty clearly marked, and there will be Cast Members at the entrance to the bike path loop and at the top of the old air strip pointing you in the right direction, as well as 5K signs to show you where to go. Be sure to check out the Castaway Cay 5K shirts that are available at Buy The Sea Shore, a gift shop near the finish line!

    My family will be setting sail this November with Disney Cruise Line as well and we are very much looking forward to our Double Dip cruise with two port stops at Castaway Cay! Perhaps we'll see you onboard! Happy planning!
