Hello Kelly,
How exciting that you'll be traveling from "Down Under" to visit Walt Disney World! All restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving Day, and many offer a special menu with traditional fare - turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and vegetables. The full list of restaurant options isn't usually announced until much closer to Thanksgiving Day, but you'll want to get your reservation well before then since it's such a popular day to visit the parks. I'd recommend making your dining reservation 180 days in advance, and online booking is available to international visitors through the
Dining page of the website.
Here are a few Thanksgiving Day restaurant options that I'd recommend.
The most fitting is
Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom, which offers traditional American fare in a colonial setting every day of the year, so it's guaranteed to give you an authentic Thanksgiving experience
I've heard fantastic reviews of the Thanksgiving feast at
Artist Point at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
If you're looking for Thanksgiving dinner like Mom would make,
50's Prime Time Café would be a fun choice. Just be sure to mind your manners and eat your vegetables!
If you'd like to see a list of the 2013 dining options for an idea of what might be available in 2014, this
Disney Parks Blog post has some great information. Wishing you a magical vacation, Kelly!
