We are travelling to Animal Kingdom Lodge in April, we will have our 3 year old with us and want to know if the current TVs have an audio jack? We want to bring our Bluetooth transmitter so we can listen to the TV without disturbing our little one at night

Jambo Adam, and welcome to planDisney! I’m excited to hear that you’ll be enjoying the warm weather and lots of Mickey-shaped snacks in just a few weeks. Now, let’s figure out how to unwind with a movie or television show while your little one rests up for another day of Disney fun!

One of my friends happens to be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and sent me a picture of the inputs on the back of her room’s television. It doesn’t appear to have a 3.5mm audio jack (the kind that standard headphones would plug into), but it does have an HDMI ARC input which can be used with some wireless headphones (depending on the device and the television’s firmware/settings). In case it’s helpful, the other inputs on the back are USB (5V 9.5 A), USB (HDD/1.0A), HDMI, HDMI (DVI), LAN, LAN OUT, EX-LINK, DVI AUDIO IN, AUDIO OUT, COMPONENT/AV IN 1, DATA, DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL), VOL-CTRL, VARIABLE AUDIO OUT.

It wouldn’t hurt to pack your transmitter or wireless headphones (if you have one that connects to an HDMI ARC input) just in case, but it’d be safest to bring a tablet or laptop with an audio jack if you’d like to use your transmitter to watch movies or other shows quietly in your room at night.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is such a special place to stay. I mean, how cool is it to have a savanna with animals right outside the hotel?! And there’s so much to do without even leaving the resort. Your little one might like the String of Memories Activities, where they can collect beads by learning about animal behavior, or the weekly Sunset Slumber Party with games, a plushie parade, and a Disney bedtime story. Animal Kingdom Lodge also has the biggest African art collection outside of Africa, so the Jambo House Lobby Art Tour is always a must-do for me. It's really interesting to hear about all of the different pieces! Check the resort activities schedule in the lobby for more details.

One last thing–if you’re looking for a hearty breakfast or dinner, my family absolutely loves Boma! This buffet has a delicious spread of American and African dishes that’s great for both picky and adventurous eaters. One of our favorites is the bread pudding. It’s usually French Toast Bread Pudding at breakfast and Banana Bread Pudding at dinner.

I hope you have a magical stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge next month! If you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
