I will be traveling with my 4 year old child and he is not into strollers. This is very tiresome and he is like the energizer bunny. Idea on how can this be handled?

Hi, Johanna!  I can't tell you how many days I've pushed an empty stroller around the theme parks, while chasing after my own energizer bunny!  By the end of some days, I'm wondering if I can convince my energetic offspring to push me in their stroller!

We almost always brought out own stroller, but I did find that my kids were more willing to ride in the strollers available to rent at the theme parks.  I think because they look less like the strollers my girls were used to, it made them more appealing - plus they could get in and out themselves very easily, which gave them a little bit of the control they wanted.

Another option for you might be a child harness.  These are basically little vests with a "leash" attached, so while it gives your little one the freedom to do his own walking, it keeps him close by so you don't have to worry about chasing him down.

Last thing I can tell you that worked for me - I am not above offering a bribe to my children.  If they stay in the stroller, they can get a Kaki Gori (shaved ice) at snack time.  If they ride in the stroller, they can meet Mickey Mouse.  If they sit still for a while, I will take them to ride the thing they most want to do.  I feel so empowered by having all of Walt Disney World to hold over their tiny heads!  I find that if I tell them what there is they might miss out on if they don't get into the stroller, they are more willing to hop in.  If nothing else, I tell them we can get to the rides faster if I am pushing them!

    Good luck!
