Hello. We are traveling this winter and my son will be celebrating his 13th birthday. This is our 1st time visiting and I am not sure which park would be best for his age group. I also have a 6 yr old daughter.

    Hello, Jocelyn!

I think it's great that your son will have the opportunity to welcome in his teen years at the Walt Disney World Resort! There are so many rides and attractions that especially appeal to the tween/teen age group at each of the theme parks, and I am happy to share a few of my teen nephew's favorites to help you with your planning.

If you only have one day to spend at a theme park, I'd recommend Magic Kingdom Park. This theme park has the largest variety of rides and attractions for every thrill level, as well as several really wild rollercoasters. My nephew's favorite attractions at this theme park are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain and Space Mountain, and he could ride those over and over again if we'd let him! Even better? My six year old daughter also enjoys those attractions (with the exception of Space Mountain.) Magic Kingdom Park is an excellent all-ages theme park, and I'm sure you will have a great time exploring all of the many rides and attractions when you visit.

I also think your son will enjoy Disney's Hollywood Studios. My teen nephew enjoys Star Tours - The Adventures Continue, Toy Story Midway Mania!, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. There are also several attractions here that may appeal to your young daughter, like Muppet*Vision 3D and Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage.

Each of the Walt Disney World theme parks offers attractions the whole family can enjoy together, and I'm sure you and your family will make many magical memories when you visit. Please feel free to stop back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions before your trip. Happy planning!
