Traveling the week after Easter, do I run the risk of parks being at capacity if we try to switch parks on a park hopper in the afternoon, or if we take a midday rest at the resort and then head back? Trying to decide if park hopper is a good choice.

    Hi Elizabeth,

Welcome to planDisney! There’s just something extra magical about springtime at Walt Disney World Resort. The mornings are cool and refreshing, the afternoons are warm without being too hot, and the blooming flowers add a colorful pop to every corner of the parks—especially at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, one of my family’s favorite seasonal events!

One of my go-to planning tips is adding the Park Hopper Option to my Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets. During any holiday, especially one as popular as Easter, the parks can see an uptick in Guests, which could result in a park reaching capacity. From my experience, that’s most likely to happen on the holiday itself or the day before or after, particularly if it falls on a weekend. Magic Kingdom Park is usually the one that fills up first.

The great news? Since you’re traveling the week after Easter, you’ll likely find that the crowds start to taper off. While I don’t have Madame Leota’s crystal ball to give us a definite answer, I’d say you’re in a good spot to enjoy the parks without too much concern for capacity restrictions.
Even if the parks are a bit busier than expected due to lingering spring breaks, having the Park Hopper option allows you to adjust your plans on the fly. Say you start your day at EPCOT, head back to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel for a little siesta or a splash in the pool (highly recommended!), then feel like heading out again—there’s a very good chance you’ll be able to hop to one of the other three parks with no issue.

My crew never visits Walt Disney World without the Park Hopper option. I love the peace of mind it brings, knowing we can follow the fun wherever it leads—morning, noon, or night. And let me tell you, there’s something extra magical about a twilight stroll down Main Street, U.S.A., or catching Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to close out the day.

I hope this helps put your mind at ease, Elizabeth! If you have any more questions or need help mapping out the perfect plan, please come back and submit a question directly to me here at planDisney. I’d love to help you make the most of your magical getaway!

    See you real soon!
