We will be traveling to WDW w/ two small children, ages 2 & 1 and was wondering if it would be better to take a double stroller from home or two single strollers? My main concern is will a double stroller fit on Disney's transportation ?

    Jessica,

We have three little ones and we travel with a double AND a single stroller!  However, before daughter number 3 arrived we did use a double, and I prefer that.  It's easier for me to have only one home base, and keep ourselves organized.  I also find it faster to move through crowds, and to only seek out one stroller in the stroller parking sections outside the rides.

The downside of this arrangement is that it's harder to split up and visit separate areas of the park.  If you plan on splitting your group you may well prefer to have two singles.  You may also want singles if the seats in those recline and the double does not - the kids are likely to fall asleep at some point and would be more comfortable if they could lie back.  Also, if your children have a tendency to fight if they are in the same stroller, that's a convincing argument for splitting them up.  You don't need the tension on your vacation!

At any rate, I don't think you will have a problem fitting your stroller on the monorail.  We use a Graco Duoglider and it rolls in with little assistance required, as does a Combi.  I've even seen people take large double jogging strollers on the monorail without having to fold them.  The buses, however, are a different story.  All strollers are required to be folded to ride a bus - another great reason for me to only want one to deal with!  Usually I would take the kids and my husband would take the stroller and all the bags.  It's a toss up as to who was working harder  :)
