We are traveling to WDW next April, 2012. We are arriving on April 20th and my son will turn 10 on April 21st. Will we be charged the kid or adult rate for the dining plan. He will be 9 at time of arrival.

Congratulations! You've squeezed in one last trip on the 'cheap', as we say in my family. Your son's tickets and dining plan are based on his age at check-in, so for the billing purposes of this trip, he's considered a child. The lower rate is a small savings on the park tickets, but a rather large savings on the dining plan!

Of course this does mean that he will be required to order from the children's menu as well. If that isn't appealing to him, I suggest you book mostly buffet meals so that he can eat 'adult' foods for a lower price. That's a win-win!

    Have a great vacation!
