Traveling to WDW in July 2009 with 3 children (3, 4 and 7). Are there any "kid" activities on the Boardwalk?

    Hi Jamie,

How fun to be planning an upcoming Disney WOrld trip! It will be here before you know it. The Boardwalk resort is a fantastic resort and one of our favorites.

You ( and your children) will be happy to know there is a great selection of activities for your children at this resort. The resort features a great pool area with a water slide that is designed after a wooden roller coaster. During the afternoons, the lifeguards offer a number of pool games and contests that is fun for all ages. Located next to the pool is a small playground area and just a few feet from the pool is an arcade. Around the corner from the pool is Community Hall. This recreation center offers games and fun activities either free or for a minimal cost and is a great place to pass a rainy hour or so.

The Boardwalk promenade has a number of shops and restaurants that the whole family will enjoy, including the ESPN restaraunt and arcade. In the evenings there are free entertainment shows, like comedians and jugglers, typically between 6pm-10pm. There is also a surrey bike rental and a small carnival game area. There is a great grassy area where my boys love to play catch, tag or just relax.

The Boardwalk is also located within walking distance to the Beach Club resort that offers (on most evenings) a free bonfire and movie. You can also walk to the Fantasia Gardens miniature golf course, across from the Swan resort.

I am positive you and your children will find plenty to keep you happy and busy. Wishing you a great time!
