We are traveling to WDW by car from DC on I-95S. Are there any shortcuts to WDW that could avoid the horrible I-4 traffic through downtown Orlando. I heard that the Central Florida Greeneway (Rt 417) is good, but do you have any suggestions or hints?

The Greeneway is a great alternative to I-4, especially during busy traffic times - which in Orlando seems like all the time!  We drive from New Jersey on nearly all of our trips, and find the Greeneway is especially helpful if we come in at rush hour.

The Greeneway is a toll road, so be prepared!  It will take just about $5 to get to Disney World.
