We are traveling to WDW August 15-19 at will be staying at AKV-Jambo. We have booked a 1BR(value). I've read mixed reviews on AKV value rooms. Any thoughts?

    Hi Jennifer!

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a wonderful resort and I think you'll have a great time exploring the resort and enjoying your value room.

We've stayed at the lodge a number of times in value rooms all the way up to concierge level accommodations. While the value rooms may not have the same views as a savanna view room, we've never found that this takes away from our stay. The layout of the resort is designed so that there are many different areas to view the animals. And, I personally think that exploring all these areas is part of the uniqueness of the lodge.

One spot we love to explore are the hallways to the left (as you are in the lobby facing the large windows at the back of the lodge). Be sure to walk across the lobby's bridge and head out the hallway. You'll find a number of staircases that feature sitting areas with rocking chairs (big and small - perfect for any kids in your family) where you can sit for a few minutes of quiet and really take in the views.

I hope you enjoy the lodge and all it has to offer! It really is an experience that's nearly impossible to find outside of Africa!
