Hi I will be traveling to WDW in april 2016 and was wondering do I have to have my disney dining plan already purchased before making reservations?

Hi, Jessica! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. April may be months away, but I am so happy to see that your vacation planning is underway! There are some amazingly delicious dishes to be experienced at Walt Disney World Resort restaurants. Some of the restaurants fill completely as their Advance Dining Reservation windows open 180 days in advance. Several months ago, I made sure to rise early on the day that our window opened for an upcoming trip, just to make sure we could taste that glorious 'Ohana Bread Pudding as we watch Wishes nighttime spectacular from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

The good news I have for you today is that a Disney Dining Plan is not required to make Advance Dining Reservations. All Guests are welcome to login or call Disney Dining to claim a spot at their favorite Walt Disney World Resort restaurant up to 180 days in advance. You did not mention if you will be staying at one of the fabulous Resort hotels. If you are, then you will be able to complete these reservations for up to 10 days of your vacation all at one time, beginning 180 days before your check-in date. This extended booking window can be quite handy in snagging some of the popular dining experiences I mentioned earlier.

I hope you have a magical vacation, Jessica, and are able to make some delicious dining plans. Please stop by again if you think of any other questions as you continue to plan. If you need me, you can find me here dreaming about that bread pudding!
