We are traveling to WDW in April 2019. Our current plans have us at the resorts over Easter. We are trying to decide if it would be better to come the week after Easter instead in thinking about the crowd level. Any advice would be appreciated!

Welcome to the Moms Panel, Tony!

April brings flowers, fantastic weather, and consequently, sometimes higher crowds.  Although predicting crowd levels at Walt Disney World is not an exact science, we can look at some historical trends to make educated guesses.  Typically, you'll see an increase in the number of Guests resort-wide starting the weekend before Easter, and this continues through Easter Sunday.  You'll begin to see a slight, but not significant decrease during the next week, but not noticeably so until the Sunday after.  Unless you can move your trip to the last week of April/ first week of May, I don't see any great benefits from changing your plans.

Let's talk about all the egg-cellent things you can do on your trip during Easter week!  The 2019 Epcot® International Flower & Garden Festival is an annual event with Disney themed character topiaries and outdoor kitchens that will be happening during your trip.  While you're in Epcot, check out the Egg-Stravaganza Scavenger Hunt where you'll search for hidden Disney character themed Easter eggs (take a look at this Disney Parks Blog post from 2018 for details).

And don't forget to visit Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny in their springtime finery at Town Square in the Magic Kingdom.

Here's hoping you have a "Hoppy" Easter, Tony!
