Hiya, Lindsay! Welcome and thank you for your question.
Is there a better time to retreat to warm, sunny
Walt Disney World than when half of the country is digging out from mountains of snow? Probably not. Weather in the area can be a little bit unpredictable, but you will generally find daytime highs at Disney World during February to be in the mid to upper 70s, with nighttime lows in the mid-50-degree range.
Now, what about those
water parks? The water is heated to about 81 degrees, so you won't have to worry about taking a polar plunge. As for getting into and out of the water, that's something to think about on a personal comfort level. You may encounter an 80-degree day or warmer, and I would say that's perfect for water parks. On a day when temperatures are lower in the 70s, I'd be too cold, but my kids wouldn't bat an eye.
If you keep a towel or wrap nearby on a cooler day, that should help. The worst part will be waiting in line while you're wet, but on the plus side, if the day is cooler, lines may be shorter! Disney may also opt not to open a water park if temperatures are expected to be below 70 degrees.
Keep in mind, Lindsay, that at the moment, Disney's
Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is the only park open. We don't have opening information for Disney's
Blizzard Beach Water Park yet but keep an eye out just in case it opens before your trip.
I hope you get to enjoy a wet and wild adventure!
Anna
