    I am traveling with my three children to Disney this summer. I know my older two will be fine. I am just looking for any tips you can give me to keep in mind for my 17 month old.

    Hi, Alicia!  I always found that the easiest of my kids to deal with is the youngest - no matter what age they were.  Even when I only had two daughters, the youngest always just went along with whatever was going on, and enjoyed just being at Walt Disney World!

    If there is anything you need to be aware of is that the little kids need to be kept well hydrated and generously lathered in sunscreen.  I find the younger they are, the less they complain about things bothering them, so you'll need to make sure your little one has plenty to drink.  I also like to do as much of my walking as I can through the souvenir locations, just to get a little added air conditioning and shade where I can.

    I also make sure that my older daughters understand the need to accommodate the little one in terms of rides and attractions.  My older daughters are eight and nearly 18, and if left to their own devices would never go to Playhouse Disney.  They have to be aware that the little one LOVES that show, so we all go to see it (and the older ones enjoy it, even when they don't admit it - I see their toes tapping and their hands clapping!).  Most of the things that your youngest can do, though, will be things the older kids will enjoy anyway.

    My kids always napped in the stroller, so I never went back to my hotel for nap time, but if you plan to do that, let the older ones know so they don't get disappointed to have to leave the parks.  Keep snacks and juice boxes or water with you, and maybe a storybook or toy to keep the little one entertained in line.
