Welcome to planDisney, Christopher! It looks like your Disneyland Resort visit will take place in just a few short weeks. Get ready for the magic, because it is all coming your way very shortly!
I'm happy to share a bit of guidance on helping your teens make the most of their Disneyland Resort experience. Guests who are at least 13 years old may
create a MyDisney online account which can be used to log in to the
official Disneyland mobile app. However, a parent or guardian will need to link reservations on their behalf. You can do this online by using the
Link Tickets & Passes page, or you can simply open the mobile app and follow the steps to add a Ticket:
- Use the '☰' selection and open "My Tickets & Passes." If no ticket appears automatically, use the (+) option to find the Link Tickets & Passes menu.
- Use your device's camera to scan the barcode or QR code for the ticket you wish to link.
- Alternatively, you may manually enter the eTicket ID number by toggling over to "Type ID"
- Once they are successfully linked, your teen will be able to locate their ticket back in the same "My Tickets & Passes" section of the app and use it to scan their ticket for entry to the theme parks.
Now, Christopher, I'd recommend repeating this process and linking all the tickets for each member in your travel party to everyone's account. This will enable you all to join
Virtual Queues together or select your
Lightning Lane passes, if you opt for this. As for dining reservations, there is no current mechanism for sharing this information with multiple Guest accounts in the app. I'm sorry about that! When I'm traveling with my extended family, we simply share screenshots of our
table-service dining reservations so we all have the information at hand. It's not very sophisticated, but it gets the job done!
With respect to your question about
mobile food & beverage orders, Guests who are under 18 years of age will not be able to store a payment method in the app. For this reason, I often recommend that families traveling with teens purchase a
Disney Gift Card which can be used for mobile ordering. Although they won't be able to save the payment information, they should be able to scan it with their phone's camera or manually enter the 16-digit number for each transaction. My friend and fellow panelist,
Amanda D. suggests that Guests
save the gift card number into a shared note, and then they can use it to copy and paste into the mobile ordering system for a little more efficiency.
I hope this is at least a helpful start, Christopher. If we can assist with anything else in the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out to
planDisney again soon. We'd love to help! I wish you and your family a spectacular time at 'The Happiest Place on Earth,' with unforgettable memories that last a lifetime.
Blue Skies and Sunshine,
Tishra
